Reading aloud is personal. Here is exactly how your recordings and details are handled.
Every recording is stored under a random identifier — never your name, the book title or anything else identifying. Nothing in the file name reveals who you are or what you read.
Your data is processed and stored on encrypted European cloud servers, so it stays inside the EU privacy and data-protection framework.
New sessions are private. Only you can open your recordings, and a playback link is created fresh each time you press play and expires after one hour.
Deleting a session removes the recording and its details from your history. You can delete your whole account and everything in it whenever you like.
Recordings are never used to train models, never sold, and never shared with advertisers.
A session only becomes visible to others if you switch it to public yourself, and even then only people signed in to Read Together can see it. You can switch it back to private at any moment.
Under the GDPR you can ask for a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict how it is used, or object to processing. Deletion is available directly in the app, and for anything else you can write to us and we will respond within 30 days.
Payments are handled by our payment provider; we never see or store your card details.
